A story of wine and passion
Vines have been growing in the stony lands near the ancient walls of Montalcino ever since 1363. The current company was founded in the 1970s by Domenico “Delfo” Berni. Today it is managed by his grandson Gianni Pignattai, along with his family, who carry forward the legacy with heartfelt dedication and a deep respect for tradition.
The Wines
Classic in colour and with elegant aromas, the Pietroso wines reflect the local territory and the Sangiovese vine. They are well-structured and pleasantly tannic, and are suitable for long-term aging.
The Vineyards
Our Sangiovese vines grow on five distinct sites, guaranteeing balanced wines processed entirely by hand, with the deepest respect for nature.
The Cellar
Our cellar, situated close to the historic town, enjoys wonderful views over the Val d’Arbia. It brings together simplicity and tradition in the crafting of wine, from grape transformation to ageing in oak barrels.
